About Benjamin

Benjamin Brown is a firefighter and paramedic who has dedicated his life to serving the people of South Carolina. Every day in that role, he has been entrusted with the duty to serve, protect, and show integrity to his fellow citizens — and that same commitment will guide him in Columbia.
Benjamin is running because he believes now is the time for bravery, courage, and leadership. The political class has had its chance. It is time for trusted members of our communities to step forward and lead with honesty and determination.
His campaign is focused on the issues that matter most: improving education, making life more affordable, protecting our environment, strengthening public health, investing in infrastructure, and defending every person's right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
If elected, Benjamin pledges to serve all residents of District 80 — no matter how you identify, think, feel, or believe. He will listen, respect, and work for you.
Benjamin's Priorities
Education
Investing in our public schools, supporting teachers with competitive pay, and expanding access to early childhood education for every family in District 80.
Healthcare
Making healthcare more affordable and accessible for all South Carolinians, protecting people with pre-existing conditions, and expanding behavioral health services.
Female Reproductive Health Care
Fighting to protect and expand access to reproductive health care for all women in South Carolina — including defending abortion rights and ensuring access to IVF and fertility treatments.
Local Economy
Supporting small businesses, creating good-paying jobs, and ensuring that the Lowcountry's economic growth benefits residents — not just outside investors.
Environment & Coastal Resilience
Protecting our coastline, marshes, and waterways. Investing in resilience infrastructure to safeguard our homes and communities from flooding and storm surge.
Infrastructure & Transportation
Addressing traffic congestion, improving road safety, and planning smart growth so Mount Pleasant and District 80 remain livable and connected.
Government Accountability
Bringing transparency and integrity to Columbia. Benjamin believes elected officials should be responsive to their constituents — not special interests.
Workers' Rights
Fighting to bring real collective bargaining rights to unionized workers in South Carolina and repealing the state's right-to-work law — because workers deserve a fair voice in their workplace.
